Western Carolina University has issued requests for proposals for two possible public-private partnership projects, one that could lead to student housing on the university’s West Campus and one that could improve broadband internet service to the Cullowhee Valley.

Trustees approve new schedule of rates for next academic year

Students at Western Carolina University will pay slightly more to reside, dine and park on campus after the Western Carolina University Board of Trustees endorsed a new schedule of rates for the 2018-19 academic year, but a new tuition plan taking effect in the fall will result in a significant drop in the overall cost of attendance.

McManus, French named Homecoming queen, king for 2017

Briana Callie McManus, a senior from Cary majoring in music education, and Jacob William French, a senior from Reidsville majoring in business administration and law, were announced as Western Carolina University’s Homecoming queen and king Saturday, Oct. 28.
