In its eighth year of rankings, Military Times lists Western Carolina University as 82nd among more than 600 technical schools, colleges and universities evaluated as a good fit for service members, military veterans and their families.
Programs in the colleges of Business, Education and Allied Professions, Arts and Sciences, and Health and Human Sciences have received notification of reaccreditation from a variety of agencies that conduct in-depth examinations of the programs’ quality and effectiveness.

Three Western Carolina University alumni were recognized for their achievements and a former chair of the WCU Board of Trustees received one of the highest honors bestowed by the university, the Distinguished Service Award, as part of Homecoming activities on campus.
