A Western Carolina University student mountain biker who regularly trains on the university’s trail system rode away with two national championship medals at a recent competition held in West Virginia.

The U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration has awarded the Western Carolina University School of Nursing a grant totaling nearly $1 million to develop community-based and primary care clinical experiences to help students enrolled in WCU’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing Programs prepare for careers in those health care settings.

WCU is listed in the 2015 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, announced recently at the annual conference of the American Council on Education in Washington, D.C.
