Western Carolina University faculty and staff members who are parents and in need of a post-Valentine’s Day outing can take advantage of a Parents Night Out event being offered Friday, Feb. 24, by WCU’s health and physical education students.
“For anyone new to Parents Night Out, it is an opportunity for our students to work with children ages 5 through 12 in a fun and active environment,” said Tom Watterson, WCU assistant professor of health and physical education.
The event will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. in WCU’s Reid Gymnasium. Entry will be at the northeast corner of the gymnasium at the door closest to the Campus Recreation Center. Developmentally appropriate games and a healthy snack will be provided for the children of faculty and staff and the children’s friends.
Donations will be accepted for the Health and Physical Education Majors Club.
To register a child, email Watterson at firstname.lastname@example.org with the name, gender and age of the child/children by noon on Feb. 24.
