Annual campuswide budget hearing on Jan. 26

AlumniTower1Western Carolina University’s annual campuswide budget hearing will be held from 1 until 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, in the conference room of Blue Ridge Hall.

During the meeting, university leaders will present their division’s budget priorities and answer questions from those in attendance.

“This budget hearing is an important step in the process of identifying the most important issues facing the university and determining what budget priorities rise to the top,” said Greg Hodges, director of budgets, financial planning and analysis. “In the spirit of open and transparent decision-making, we encourage members of the campus community to participate in this process.”

The meeting schedule is:

1-1:15 p.m. – Opening remarks from Provost Alison Morrison-Shetlar.

1:15-1:45 p.m. – Academic Affairs budget presentation, Morrison-Shetlar.

1:45-2:15 p.m. – Administration and Finance budget presentation, Vice Chancellor Mike Byers.

2:15-2:45 p.m. – Student Affairs budget presentation, Vice Chancellor Sam Miller.

2:45-3:15 p.m. – Information Technology budget presentation, Chief Information Officer Craig Fowler.

3:15-3:45 p.m. – Chancellor’s Division budget presentation, Chief of Staff Melissa Wargo.

3:45-4:15 p.m. – Athletics budget presentation, Director of Athletics Randy Eaton.

4:15-4:30 p.m. – Closing remarks, Morrison-Shetlar.
